OCD: Off, Closed, Done · Stove off? Door closed? Done.
OCD: Off, Closed, Done is a tiny checklist for everything you check before leaving the house. Most questions are answered below. If yours isn't, we're one email away.
On your device, and only there. OCD has no accounts and no server, so your lists live in the app's storage on your phone (or in your browser if you use the web version). We can't see them, and they're never uploaded anywhere.
This also means they won't follow you by themselves if you clear your browser data, delete the app, or get a new phone. That's what backups are for.
Open the app's home screen and scroll to the bottom. Tap Export backup. OCD saves a small file named like ocd-backup-2026-10-20.json to your downloads. That file is your backup. Keep it somewhere safe, such as your cloud drive or an email to yourself.
Do this whenever you've set up lists you'd hate to retype. It takes two seconds.
1. On the old phone, tap Export backup (see above) and send the file to the new phone however you like: AirDrop, a cloud drive, or email it to yourself.
2. On the new phone, open OCD, scroll to the bottom of the home screen and tap Import backup.
3. Pick the backup file. Your lists appear, with any custom items you added.
Importing adds lists; it won't delete anything already on the new phone.
Usually one of three things: the browser's data was cleared, Safari removed the site's data after 7 days without a visit, or you opened OCD at a different web address than before. If you have a backup file, Import backup brings everything back. To avoid this on iPhone, add OCD to your home screen (Share → Add to Home Screen).
